Transnational crime and the 21st century: criminal enterprise, corruption, and opportunity
This book describes the nature of transnational crime today, relying on case studies, interviews, and research, to assess the linkage of transnational crime with organized crime. Major cases and offenders are described, the successes thus far documented, as well as the failures, with reasons offered for why we should be hopeful or disconsolate about the prospects for the future. Concerte ideas to prevent the twenty-first century from repeating the cycle of continuing development of powerful organized crime syndicates are proposed.
