Indonesian constitutional reform 1999-2002 : an evaluation of constitution - making in transition
In 1999, the MPR enacted the First Amendement to the 1945 Constitution. Over each of the next three years, it passed three further amandements. Depsite their important cotribution to Indonesia's transition as the impact of the fall of Soeharto's regime, there has been no comprehensive study on these four amandements and the process by wich they were produced. This book attemps to fill this gap, by critically evaluating the process and outcomes of these amendements in the context of constutional theory. The book also describes the experience of other countries, in particular South Africa and Thailand, in amending their constitution.
