The Jakarta Post was established 25 years ago. It was intended to be a newspaper that is readable and written in good English to bring Indonesian views and analysis about Indonesia's development and modernization to the rest of the world. After 25 existence, the question is whether the Post has achieved all or part of its objectives. Through a selection of editorials from the last 25 years, reproduced in this commemorative issue, the Post would like to show the paper's belief's, values and objectives. In reporting and commenting on as well as analyzing the developments of the nation, the region and the world, the Post hope to be able, =to show how the newspaper has been relevant not only on the day of publication, but also in the future development of Indonesian society
